After just reading "Deathtraps" by Belton Y. Cooper I will forever shudder when I see a picture of the Sherman M4 tank. The guts that it took to get back into one of those after having one,two, or three shot out from under you is beyond me...

Marion: Nice pics Giles sent in. Giles got hold of me via E mail and have sent him a couple of my pics and some of Russ's (3-7-I Recon's) pics with a lot of back and forth E mails. Just thought you would like to know we got together .
Looking over some old WW 2 pics I cant help but wonder how we ever made out with
so litle we carried with us, and still existed, in comparison to the amount of "stuff" our
modern army men carry with them in combat.

Joe all we carried was a field pack, blanket,socks,and two cans c-rations and
the entrenching tool tied to pack web belt with M-1 clips canteen water
fatigues and helmet. Joe could you carry everything they carry now-a-days?
Gladyou found a buddy and I saw the pics. I can refer to them. Kinda looks
like what I saw in Italy. No tanks though, just weuns a walking. Roque
Joe we are fine, going to Ark. tomorrow Fri. be back Tuesday. Gonna see
my new GRANDSON, Matthew.

The great grandson we went to see in ARk. His name is ANDREW!!
And Mom and Dad, they are from Houston Tex. but went to Ark.
and all the family had a get together for his 1st birthday and also
Fathers Day. Guess what! I was the oldest there.
My other great grandson ,Matthew lives, in No. Carolina
