Received this letter from my friend Doug this morning. Happy to say I found some immediate info.
...Have you ever heard of the 1276 Engineer Combat Battalion, the fighting Mojacks? A local man just died and he was a member of that outfit.
Later, Doug
Here are some pages I scanned and put together about this unit. They were part of the 1141st Engineer Combat Group.
NOTE Jan 2014 -
For some reason, we couldn't download the file anymore, so I re-uploaded it for everyone. Sorry about the inconvenience.

Received this a couple of weeks ago. Sorry I did not post it sooner. You know how that goes...

comments: I am not sure that you are able to help me, but I am having trouble finding any information on the 1276 Engineer combat BN. My uncle serviced with the unit in wwII, John Tuminello. The only other info I have is the places in was at:Germany, Holland, Belgium, France, England, Iceland, Reykjavik, London, Paris, Brussels, Maastricht and Hannover. His induction Center was Camp Grant Illinois. I would appreciate any help. Thank you

My Dad was also a member of the 1276th. I have some general information and his personal photo album, though not much more than is in the PDF file.
Welcome to the forum. It's great to see your post. We look forward to seeing anything you have to share.
Is the PDF still available? I can't seem to download it.
Thanks,
Wes
Oh boy, seems I am having problems with yet another uploaded document. Let me see what I can do. My apologies for this inconvenience...
Well that was easy. The file is available once again.
