Here's some footage that Papa Art sent to me. It's on Google!

I have to add a personal note here. Please forgive me in advance, but I can't stand when people add MIDI files to their sites and/or videos. I know some of you love music no matter what, but with no copyright issues on WWII era music anymore, I wish more would use the real thing. I just can't stand the "tinny" and thin sounds of MIDI. EWWWWW!

Sometimes people send me links with MIDI music, but I have to confess they get tossed. Give me real music anyday. Sorry for the tangent but...

Marion: The footage showing the P-47 was fantasic. The P 47 was the greatest of all

the planes to the front line troops. The damn things must have carried more weaponery than weight of the plane. I recall one time we were held up by a pair of dug in tanks and infantry with only the gun and turret showing on a hillside commanding our only approach.. Within 45 minutes along came some P-47's and remmieded the problem in about 10 minutes. Bombs, then rockets and then .50 cal straffing . What a show. We called them the "orange tail" fighters as the tails of the planes were painted bright orange. Cant help but wonder if it was part of this group. We shure owe these guys a drink or two.. And this wasnt the only time they helped us out of a bad situation.

P-47's rocked and shook up the Germans pretty good. Saw some great footage again on TV this week.

Well here, you and I can raise a glass to the boys today. :drinkin::drinkin:

That's called kickin' A** and takin' names...P-47 style. Loved the film, but I strongly agree with Marion about the music. I don't like that metal music in the first place. Keep it WWII music or just leave the sound of the ordnance! :pdt34:
