Hello all!
Another question I throw in the group.
Does anyone know if the 704th TD Bn Veteran's Association still exists?
If so, what's their contact address?
I wrote to the address I had on file, but no reply came (it has been 3 - 4 months ago).
For quite a while, I was in touch with them until my life got thrown upside down and lost all contacts (long, boring story).
Thanks in advance!
Erwin

Mr. Baloga wrote to me once, informing me that the Veterans I was in touch with all have passed away.
After that I go no more replies.
I'd love to get in touch with men of the 704th again.
Or anyone who was in a TD Battalion during WWII in the ETO for that matter.
Erwin
I am looking for info myself, But I think they are all gone.
My Grandfather was with the 704th, I have some pretty good documentation, I am looking for the book men of the 704th. I would like to see if we can find out exactly what they did. things like that as he never really spoke about it and he recently passed away a couple of years ago,
He was 32 when entering the Army so he was not a youngster, So I would hope a few were still alive. I have his and his platoon's picture from Pine camp.

Hello from rmiller419, my father was in the 704th TD company "A". He was Ernest Miller, T-5 Medic. The Book you are asking for is no longer in print. There is a copy in the wilington, OH public Library. My father had checked it out a few weeks ago and it had a lot of good info in it. You may email me if you wish. I will give you all the info I have found out in my search. You are right in saying that there are very few left. My father was one of the youngest in 1944 and he is now 84. Feel free to get back with me.
Makes my day when I see everyone jumping in to help each other out.
It's great to see the two posts today. Wonderful!

I would love to hear how they and where they went in detail.
MY grand father was a mechanic. His Name was John J Bailey.
He never spoke about it but I have all of the medals and maps and training manual from Basic Training.
I am just curious as he never did speak of it and I was always interested.

Hello from rmiller419, I will ask my father if he knew John J Bailey. I also ran accross Al Balgoa and never was able to make contact. The 704th TD Association is no more, as probably you already know. I don't have the info at this minute but I might be able to find one other live member of the 704th TD. I should be able to get you an answer by this Friday. I might have more info also on the "Men of the 704th" book. If nothing more you might be able to have the book in the Wilimginton, OH library transfered to your Library and then you would be able to check it out to look & read it.
