:armata_PDT_01: I know it's a bit late for the post but I'm going to Normandy tomorrow and will stay 3 or 4 days, if someone needs something just let me know it and I'll try to make it :drinkin:

Have a great stay there. :armata_PDT_37:

I hope to go next year, hopefully together with my girlfriend.

Do you know of Charlie beach?

If possible, could you take a photo as coming from the sea?

Thanks a million.

Erwin

We will all be standing next to you in spirit. I know you will have a very memorable time.

Have a good trip Martin and godspeed.

Chris

Thank Marion and Chris, :heartpump:

It was a real short and busy trip and I were unable to visit everything of what I have planned on my trip but it was quite interesting.

But I managed to visit Charlie secteur for Erwin and I hope he'll enjoy the pic's.

Martin

Ps. I will open an online Album with the pic's for everyone in the next day's. :drinkin:

PPS. I hope Erwin you like the fotos.

Well I can't speak for Erwin, but I sure enjoyed the photos. You can see how how the terrain would have been a formidable obstacle. Looks so serene today that it is hard to imagine. :armata_PDT_23:

Oh btw the way, your photos are the perfect size. 800 X 600 is the maximum that I would love to see at all times, so thank you for doing that. :armata_PDT_37:

:armata_PDT_37:

If I was a cute 24-year-old blonde girl, I'd come over and kiss you!

But instead I am a 36-year-old mean Belgian male - ha ha - so I settle to shake your hand in gratitude. :armata_PDT_01:

Those photos are great. :armata_PDT_37:

I hope you don't mind, but I put them with the story of Michael Klemick who was with the group of Rangers who stormed ashore on D-Day there.

You even managed to find the Armored plate.

I looked myself silly for that one when I was there, but for some unknown reason I couldn't find it.

If I can return the favor, just ask ok?

Erwin

Looking at those photos, I noticed they have demolished the "German villa" completely now. :banghead:

It was called this way because some Germans from the Kriegsmarine (manning the guns on the cliffs) were using this "villa" as their quarters until the Allied bombings and gunfire routed them out of it.

It was halfway the cliffs overlooking Charlie Beach and one of the points this group of Rangers attacked.

They went all the way up and assaulted the pillboxes and other defenses from the rear and side.

I have the story of Michael Klemick too, so if interested, I'll post it here or in a new topic.

Erwin

We would love to hear the story of Michael, so post away new friend. :armata_PDT_01:

I made a new topic as not spoil the topic of Martin too much. :armata_PDT_37:
