As some of you might know I'm working on a project about Noville , Bastogne .

I'm stil looking for some photos from the 704 and 705 TDB.

Especially pics of the 704 TD taken on dec 17-18th 1944 when they came to support he 10th Armored in Noville to hold position and knocked out about 12 enemy tanks . 12 out of 32 ....

I guess Erwin is the person I need ...

Hello Reg,

This weekend, I'll check my files.

But aren't you refering to the 705th TD Bn when you talk about reinforcing the 10th AD at Noville?

During December 17 - 18, there were only the Airborne troopers of LaPrade and Tankers of Roberts holding that town.

Both commanders got hit when an artillery shell struck the command post (nr. 15 on the main street there).

If I'm not mistaken, LaPrade got killed and Roberts severely wounded.

The 704th TD was with 4th AD that broke through at Assenois on December 26, 1944.

A few TDers went with Bogess's group as the first to establish contact with the 326th Engineers.

I have a lot of photos of TD and Armor, so I'll see what I can do to help you. :pdt34:

A little addendum;

The 705th TD Bn got encircled with the 101st AB at Bastogne and elements of both 9th and 10th Armored Division.

They proved to be a well-received armored reinforcement for the lightly armed para- and glidertroopers.

I hope this answers some questions.

I will get back to you regarding the pictures.
