Al Kincer will be sending me some Bill Mauldin cartoons from the war. Here's the first in the line:

These are great, Marion. I always did like Bill Mauldin's cartoons. If you look closely at the one referencing the general, you'll see a close resemblance to George Patton. There was no love lost between those two. Patton wanted to court-martial Mauldin. Ike said to leave him alone, he was good for the troops. Ike won.

One of my dear vet friends, Dick Feitz, has offered to send me his copy of Mauldin's "Sicily Sketch Book". I am very excited about adding it to my ever-growing collection.
