Man, oh man, where did you find that booklet? I went through EACH image and just loved it. Many of the photos I had never seen before now.

Loved the captions and even saw several images of engineers. Of course I saw the 34th Inf Div too.

I would love to have a copy of that someday.

Thanks so much for publishing that here. Rocky will love it!

Words cannot express the feeling I got seeing the pictures above.

Old men still can cry. Especialy the first one and the middle one

last row bottom. It's after 9pm CST, my bedtime,so I will go to

sleep thinking of all the pics. Again thanks for showing them. I wish

I could send them to my 34th ID friends I know and met at our reunions.

M-1 is it possible that you to send them to me ?

A grateful Rocky

Rocky, was already thinking of that. I would like to compile them into one PDF file, that you could scroll through like a document/book.

Let's see what I can do and I will send to you. Hope the boys enjoy it as much as you and I did. I know that's an affirmative.

Many hugs as usual,

Mare

M-1 After looking at the pics again, I wonder if you could send them to me

so I cab send them to several guys I e/m from the 34th that I met at our

reunions. I did notice that the 34th was not mentioned at Salerno,Cassino

or Anzio. I guess the book,"Dogfaces Who Smiled Through Tears" must

not be right. Homer Ankrum must have made this up. I will say one

thing. NO ONE there can match our time,(34th) in combat. Rocky

Rocky you have to realize it was only a few pages long. Far from a complete history; just a brief synopsis of the Mediterranean Campaign.

If they had to have photos of every unit that took part in each battle, it would be several inches thick!

Now, now, go be a good boy! :pdt12:

Whew, found a copy of the actual book on one of the Military sites - it is going for $135.00! :armata_PDT_23:

Okay, I copied all the images to my harddrive and then compiled them all into into a downloadable PDF file. This way they are all within one document and you can flip through like a book.

Rocky I will send you copy...
