I was just sitting at my desk clapping my hands together.
Guess what? If all goes well, Colonel Savre, 36th Engineer Brigade commander, will be there too.
Man, this is gonna be a GREAT one!!!!!!
Marion it just gets better, this could top my last year's visit and I did'nt think that possible!!

He's been in command for since 2008 according to his bio (click here for the Fort Hood site). Will he be moving on this summer? In the USMC commands are generally no more than 3 years.
I haven't heard anything yet, but I am sure we will find out at the reunion. I remember being in touch with his predecessor before Col Savre took reign a few years ago.
Instead of flying in this year, am taking Amtrak. A nice slow, leisurely way to travel. Lots of room to relax, and food on board. I am looking forward to this. Plus, the entire round trip cost about $175.00 dollars. The plane trip would have been three times as much, with a lot more hassle.
This morning I received Capt Fallon's letter concerning the 2011 Reunion. I feel very privileged to be included as a friend of the 36th/540th and look forward again to meeting everyone at the Quality Inn, PA in September. I am at present researching in depth the building of the 'Bridge in the sky' on the northern coast road in Sicily in 1943. I hope to have some material to show and discuss with those present.
Colin.
Ah, you got your letter before I got mine.
Yes, John is very thoughtful and everyone enjoyed your company. It's nice to feel welcome, yes?
Just made my reservations!
YEAH!!!!!!! I am so excited!!!
