Hello everyone, I wanted to share with you this find!

310th Combat Engineer story

Most of you have probably already seen this page, but I am sure that you have not seen one of the bridges is talking about!

You see where he speaks of bailey bridges north of Borgo di Bisano? Well, this bridge still exists, and is still used! In July I will organize a reenactment event in Bisano and we will do some photo reconstruction, with the bridge! Meanwhile, however, this afternoon I do some photos, so I'll show you!

It is not a great news, but it's nice to see how a piece of history is still present today at the eyes of all and almost no one knows what it is, here in Italy :D

Here are the photos! The beams have certainly been replaced over the years, but they are already quite rotten... But on the whole does her figure!

See you soon from Italy, your correspondent :P

Great pictures! I need to keep them around if I ever desire to build a model of a Bailey. It's amazing that it is still around considering it probably wasn't built in 1944+/- to still be in use in 2011! God bless the engineers (designers) and the engineers (soldiers)!!

CaptO at your disposal if you need more photos let me know! I absolutely agree with you, it's amazing! And you think that a few miles further north there is another one even longer. Unfortunately, the fields around them are owned and close and I can not do close-ups, but if I can I put the photos here! ;)

I would add: there is not a large passage of vehicles, is on a dirt road outside Bisano, but I know that sometimes it is used by trucks entering the quarry behind!

there is no veteran of the 310th Battalion? I'd be really curious to know if anyone remembers this bridge!

Man, I have been missing out. I had company for a few days, so haven't been around much, but for some reason, the forum is no longer sending me notifications when someone posts, or if someone tries to join. Sigh! So I have a tech support issue running today. Always something....

Anyway, great post. Thanks for this wonderful addition to the forum.

YEAH!!!

Thank you M1, I'm sure you can solve the problem! :D

I have other interesting photos of a hill where it is past the 85th Inf Div and I will post them as soon as I find it! It would be great if some veteran recognize the places!

I am inviting my friend Al and my friend Dave to see this post. Can't wait to hear from them. His dad was in that engineering unit.

This is fantastic! Even I can not wait to hear their words ...

Always there for you!! :)
