To continue a never ending quest for the WWII history of Trier Germany, I am currently working on US railroad operations; Trier, Konz-Karthus and the Moslle and Saar Rivers in Germany.

Back in 11 Dec. 2005 Marion you had replied to a Carl, who requested info on the 347th Engineer General Service Regiment. You had a 2.82MB doc.pdf of 347th findings.

I tried to acquire it but this info. is no longer on the web, could you re-post it. Hopefully some of it may contain info that I have not already found. To date I have found limited info

for the listed units in their roles to rebuild railroad facilities (BRIDGES) or railroad operations in the area of Trier Germany. If anyone has info on these units or others, I would like to from them.

718th & 732nd Railway Operating Battalions

333rd, 347th and 389th Engineer General Service Regiments

Arthur T. Harnish did a memoir of his service with the 347th but a copy of his book has only been found in one library.

Thanks for everyone's time.

New file. I did a rescan of the pages from the "Engineer's Bible" and am re-uploading here and one original post.

347th Docs.pdf

Thank you, Marion for re-posting the pages on the 347th. Since there is very little on-line info out there I already acquired these same pages. Hopefully someone has a nice grouping of documents on the 347th or other targeted units.

Thanks again Duayne

I would suggest getting in touch with NARA in Maryland and/or the Army Corps of Engineers Office of History. It would be wonderful to have new info to share on the forum.
