Here's a photo of his of the Wonju bridge.
Thanks for placing that photo on the forum Brooke!
You're welcome!!
I met a fellow on the Korean War webpage that came to Korea after my grandpa left and he sent me a color photo of that bridge when it was completed. I don't have it here, it's on a cd at work. I'll work on getting it posted tomorrow.
Brooke
I know Jack and others will just love it. Thanks again for all your efforts.
Brooke,
That bridge in Wonju is a railroad bridge.
The 430th built two bridges over the Soyang river just South of the town of Inje, on the East coast.
I never saw the Wonju bridge, although I was in Wonju at one time.
Brooke,
Here is a pix of the timber trestle bridge that we built South of the Steel trestle bridge over the same Soyang river

Brooke,
Hope these pix come up for you.
Korea Jack
Jack, they did come through. Thanks for posting those great photos!
Hugs,
Brooke
Everyone: Make sure you check out Jack's slide show earlier in this post.
Marion,
Looking for some pix that I haven't sent you.
Korea offered a lot of pix that have brought memories of the time I spent there over 50 years ago.
What a difference 50 years can make in a Country that doesn't stay "still"!
The Olympics showed that. And here is a pix of the bridge that was built from Pusan down to Koje Do island, which was a POW camp for the bad guys and is now a "Vacation resort" complete with hotels and fun things!
