My husband was reading a book a few weeks ago and placed it on my desk, "You have to read this one first. It's really GOOD!" So I began flipping through the pages of Aces and it intrigued me from the first.
I won't give away too much, but it deals with an American pilot who winds up flying bombing missions from England.
He's from a small town in Pennsylvania and it deals with how life changes for him and his best friend.
The plot revolves around the ME-262, the first jet fighter produced by Germany, and one which startled and terrified those who encountered her.
Robert Denny was a B-17 pilot during the war, and writes from experience.
It's a quick, easy read, and one which will leave an indelible impression on you.

Does anyone have information about this group? My dad was a part of Company D, 342nd General Service Regiment , Engineers throughout most of WWII, but near the end of the war was transferred to the 49th Engineer Combat Battalion. I found some research which indicated that he was doing engineer work after D Day near Utah Beach then was a part of the Battle of the Bulge. He was also in charge of a German POW camp during the war. Where could I find out more about what he did during the war? Thanks, Peg

I`m still recovering from my 4th heart attack and have continuing upper resperatory problems. There`s been more bad days than good days and the colder weather isnt helping. Spending most of of my time on delayed major remodeling project that needs to be finished before the roof gets reshingled. So i`m still here, still breathin (sorta) & will try to get back doing research in the near future.
