My uncle was in the 280th ECB. His name as Harlin J. Lawrence (deceased). I would like to know what he did in the 280th and what company he as in (I think Headquarters Co). Also, I am looking for info on what concentration camp he saw. He could not remember where it was or what the name was...he was basically passing by when he came upon it being liberated by another Army unit. He was there only briefly but did see the prisoners and recalled how badly it smelled. Can anyone help me?
Wow, we are a little behind here. I want to wish our own proud veteran of the 135th Regiment, 34th Infantry Division, Roque Riojas, a very special birthday greeting. Thank you for your service & your continuing service for your fellow veterans.
Today I received a phone call from a Mary Lou Palumbo, who is conducting interviews, etc., in preparation for a documentary she is creating for PBS. The subject of this film will be war nurses.
I gave her the names and contact info for several nurses I had been in contact with, but she was also interested in talking with any veterans who may have been hospitalized, etc. during the war.
If you have anything you would like to share with her regarding nurses, please contact Mary Lou as soon as possible.
