To most people when thinking of major marine disasters the RMS Titanic always comes to mind. While watching a WWII documentary yesterday I learnt of a loss of life at sea that multiplies the Titanic tradegy 3 times over!
In late January 1945 this sinking has become a disaster that seems now to be little remembered. The biggest ever single loss of life at sea.

Just wanted to clear up somrthing that has been around & around the internet.
A long time ago I was taught a good lessen by ----- Walt's Daughter. She pulled no punches.
And that was to not go off 1/2cocked and foreward false info.
Mare said; "check it out,,,, Go to Snopes"
If every one who reads this, would tell their contacts to "Ckeck it out first with Snpoes"
we could put some of there "wackos" out of busness

What inspires people who have just made friends with you via email, to immediately place you on their, "send to everyone" list?
Two people I met this week via my WWII research, have decided to now send me jokes, political commentary and whatever else, ad nauseum. All I ask is that everyone stop and think before they do things like this. Not everyone in the world wants to be on the receiving end of the line...
It's one thing if we are close friends, and you and I have an agreed exchange of email, but for those others, please don't add everyone you meet to your send-all lists!
I'm not the only one who hates this stuff. I hear complaints from a lot of my friends and family, who also ask, "WHY DO PEOPLE DO THIS?"
