I just finished reading an article in the NRA American Rifleman Magazine about Don Burgett. As an older person , I can recall reading accounts of WWII and other events of that time. I was about 6 yrs. old when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and later joined the Marine Corps in 1954, have been a Marine ever since. ( Enlisted on the 8 year obligated service plan) Honorably Discharged in 1962.
There have been so many stories published and his accounts of the war are a valuable contribution to our country’s history. My intent is to obtain all of his books and read them. You might say I am somewhat of a war buff although I never saw a day of combat. ( I am however, a retired Police Officer and have experienced some combat of a different nature.)
During my tour of duty with the Marines, several of my superiors were combat veterans of WWII and it is understandable that they hold a special place in my heart along with Don Burgett. They were and are, truly American Patriots. I wanted to say “Thank You for being one of Tom Brokaw’s Greatest Generation.”

Folks,
Just wanted to send out an email saying hi, and to invite you to participate in a new 60th Infantry Regiment Memorial project. The project will need fundraising, donations and other organizational necessities. In order to make this happen, I would like to request your support. For those of you who would like to personally participate, I am putting together a steering committee to organize a non-profit 60th Infantry Regiment Foundation. For those would would like to make a monetary donation to the fund, please contact me and details can be provided to make this a reality.
Have a Happy Halloween and please drop me a line, if for nothing else to just say hi.
Cheers
Jason

Received this...
Dear Madam,
I want to draw your attention to my new book "Lost at Nijmegen".
In his review of my book Phil Nordyke, author of "All American all the way" says:
The author has done an outstanding job of researching the critical first twenty-four hours after the 82nd Airborne Division landed in Holland and its capture of key bridges and high ground near Nijmegen, Holland on September 17, 1944.
The author uncovers a number of little known details about the operation which will provide a basis of information for historians and authors in the future.
All in all, a very well researched and thought provoking book.
