  Robert Wright interview on YouTube
Posted by: Frank Gubbels - 12-31-2010, 07:08 AM - Forum: OTHER WWII UNIT STORIES AND INFO - No Replies

Saw this on another forum and thought it would be nice to share with you too. An interview with Robert Wright about the hospital in Angoville church. High quality and a must see. As you can see there are more interviews on the channel of this person.

My 18 year old niece, Brigitte, had her swearing in ceremony this month. She is now PROPERTY of the United States Marine Corps! You go girl!

:usa::thewoman:

She looks right at ease, but notice the one kid to her right. Tell me he doesn't look scared. ^_^

I'm sure they will wipe the smile off her face soon though. :P

Last photo is with the recruiter and Mark and Anne.

  Jack Wilson - 49th Engineer
Posted by: Walt's Daughter - 12-29-2010, 11:47 AM - Forum: WWII ENGINEERS - Replies (6)

I am trying to find out some information about my Dad's service record. I have quite a few pictures of him while he was in the service in WW II. I have attached attached a photo of him in front of the 49th Engineer Combat Battalion logo which I believe he was part of. I do not see that mentioned on his service record. Another photo I have is of him I believe with a 1st Army patch. the big A on his sleeve.

I wasn't sure if the 49th was attached to the 1st

Unfortunately my dad's been gone for almost 10 years now and I am not able to ask him about his time in WWII

Thank You

John Wilson

This is from a new forum member, who hasn't posted yet. I am placing this here for him, along with photos.

John there are numerous references to the 49th on the forum and on the main site. Simply type in 49th in the Search boxes and watch all that comes up.

  Normandy Before and After
Posted by: Walt's Daughter - 12-29-2010, 11:29 AM - Forum: ANYTHING WWII - No Replies

Brooke sent me a pps file which included 51 shots of the Normandy Campaign - Before and After

I converted them to a PDF file, which can be viewed by anyone. These are pretty amazing.
