Hello once again guys and dolls. Seems like I got tangled up with oral cancer
about a year ago. Been through radeiation and chemo and hospital stays plus
all kind of rehabs. Hopefully I may be rid of the cancer but not certain. It is good to see many old friends on the forum and also hope to make some of the newer bunch. Now I have to revive some
of my old computer skill that laid dormant for almost a year.
Feels good to back once again. Hi Fred, Bajaan, Stever, Rocky, Capt O, and many others.

AVERY has a great website, which allows you to design and print a number of projects including CD labels, at absolutely no cost to you.
http://www.avery.com/avery/en_us/Templates...rint-Online.htm
I have CD label software, but have never been very happy with it. Bottom line; it's not that user-friendly. So last night I was compiling a CD for someone, and wanted to create a label. You must be able to do this online, and after doing a bit or research, found AVERY's site. It was easy and within minutes, had a label for the CD. I won't bother with my software anymore.
It works with a very large number of labels, and you simply have to scroll through their list to find yours.
Have fun printing. Happy to share this with you.

I recently discovered something while working on my documentary, and it should give you cause for alarm -
Do some hard-core research and read the fine print before you donate your WWII items/collections/memorabilia!
A friend of mine whose father was in my dad's regiment, donated everything in his dad's collection to a certain university. At the time he thought he was doing the right thing. Now he wonders and questions his choice. Why? Because he had shared material with me for use on our website and the documentary, and after re-reading the agreement this month, discovered he had given away all rights to those items, and in essence it was illegal for anyone including himself, to reproduce or share any of it with anyone.
Do you, the veteran, or you the family member, want your cherished items to wind up this way? I should think not! Do you think it's right to have to ask for permission to place your stories or your images, etc., on our website or within a production?
I want you to think long and hard on this subject, and ask a lot of questions and read the fine print before you give away anything. What good does it do if your collection sits in storage at a facility? Do you really want to give up all rights to your material?

My historian friend, Michael Brodhead, was assisting a friend of mine, Harvey Schiller, 133rd Engineer, this week. One of the questions Harvey posed on the phone was answered and CC'd to me:
Mr. Schiller--
Here is an answer to a question you raised yesterday regarding the number of
engineer combat battalions in WWII:
89 divisional
204 non-divisional
Total: 293 (as of 30 June 1945)
Mike
Ah, more fun facts to know and tell! Thanks Harvey - thanks Michael!
