| An uplifting letter from an engineer |

Bill and I have been corresponding for years, and I consider him one of my best friends. Even though we've never met in person, we have one of those bonds-across-the-miles relationship, which we both really treasure.
Bill has had quite a few health problems (please keep him in your prayers), so I don't hear from him as often as I used to, but this week he sent a letter, which I replied to, and in turn I received yet another one this morning.
This letter is truly inspiring, thus I wanted to share it with you:
Dear Marion: The good Lord is looking out for you. What a difference two days make! I don't know what the world is coming to. I get so depressed with what is going on in the country. Then, two days ago, I was eating a waffle in a little dive and four young boys were seated in the opposite end. They were probably 14 to 15 years old and having a good time. When they left, the last one eyed me, smiled and gave me a thumbs up. When I went to pay my check, the mgr said those 4 boys that just left had paid it, and the tip! I wear an old military cap (so I don't have to comb my hair) and its pretty obvious looking at me that I am an old vet. Mind you, these were just school boys. Their actions kind of get my head screwed on right after all the bad stuff. Been up since 3am so its back to bed for me. Please stay in touch; your the greatest and a real morale booster.
My best
Bill

When I get a letter in the mail from someone whose name I do not recognize I always fear the worst. Today I got another one from Dan L Sorsa's niece who had been taking care of him. Dan was one of the prime movers of our reunions for many years until he was too infirm to join us any more. He received a proper military funeral and I will send condolences to the family. May he rest in peace. There are now just 65 of us. Everybody STAY RUGGED!!!.
36 Engineers are rugged......John Fallon II. Capt. USA Ret.
John, my condolences to you and the rest of the regiment. Marion

Hello All,
I have grouped my DVD purchasers together for this message. I hope this amateur can do it properly. Excuse me if you receive a duplicate of this message.
This message is for a dual purpose.
First: To let you know that after much time and work, I have been able to get both films, "Let Freedom Ring..The Lesson is Priceless" and "Let Freedom Ring...Memories of France" accepted by PBS. With some scheduling in a few days and for two years sporadically, over 90 stations nationwide will be airing both films. You can check with your local PBS station. My thanks again to all of you who helped make the production of these films possible.
Secondly: To ask you to make a purchase of a DVD for a relative or friend as a Christmas gift. Revenue is needed to distribute the films to high schools and to help with the funding of another film. Please see my website under the tab: "Organization and Projects" for a synopsis of the proposed film.
You can make a purchase through my website: www.letfreedomringforall.org or send a check to LET FREEDOM RING at the address below for $20.00 plus $5,00 S/H for each. Make your purchase by December 6th for assured Christmas delivery. Include the address you want it shipped to and it will go with a Christmas card designated from you, as you wish.
Your help is much appreciated! Contributions are fully tax-deductible.
Best Wishes. George
George Ciampa
