List of American units at the Bulge - Walt's Daughter - 12-18-2010 I couldn't agree more. Several of our European friends were also surprised to learn these were lumped together on Discharge papers etc. According to the Army, just one huge Campaign. It would make a hell of a lot more sense to define and separate these campaigns.
List of American units at the Bulge - Clementine - 12-20-2010 Marion,
Sorry to jump off-topic for a moment, but I was wondering if the certificate mentioned here is the one you mentioned on my FB page?
Finding the discussion very interesting, I know my father received the campaign medal and he has mentioned participating, I did not realize that it was not really one campaign. Now I need to find out exactly which my father participated in...it took so long to get him to talk to us about D-Day, that's always been our focus.
Clem List of American units at the Bulge - Walt's Daughter - 12-20-2010 Yes, this is the same certificate and your dad is entitled to it, since he took part in the Ardennes/Alsace Campaign. I am proud to have my dad's on the wall in my office.
The certificate only lists the major units who fought there. As stated on their site, they said we can add to the certificate if you wish.
The cert will print your dad's name, along with his unit.
The first one they sent me was wrong, but they corrected it and apologized and re-issued a new one. I have it posted on the forum somewhere. Busy this morning, so have to run. |
