I met a fellow on the Korean War webpage that came to Korea after my grandpa left and he sent me a color photo of that bridge when it was completed. I don't have it here, it's on a cd at work. I'll work on getting it posted tomorrow.
Brooke Jack Reissman - Korean War Engineer - Walt's Daughter - 08-15-2006 I know Jack and others will just love it. Thanks again for all your efforts. Jack Reissman - Korean War Engineer - Korea Jack - 08-15-2006 Brooke, That bridge in Wonju is a railroad bridge. The 430th built two bridges over the Soyang river just South of the town of Inje, on the East coast. I never saw the Wonju bridge, although I was in Wonju at one time. Jack Reissman - Korean War Engineer - Korea Jack - 08-15-2006 Brooke, Here is a pix of the timber trestle bridge that we built South of the Steel trestle bridge over the same Soyang river

Marion,
Looking for some pix that I haven't sent you.
Korea offered a lot of pix that have brought memories of the time I spent there over 50 years ago.
What a difference 50 years can make in a Country that doesn't stay "still"!
The Olympics showed that. And here is a pix of the bridge that was built from Pusan down to Koje Do island, which was a POW camp for the bad guys and is now a "Vacation resort" complete with hotels and fun things!
