| Memoribilia and Collectibles - Walt's Daughter - 09-12-2006 That's Fraulein Tinker Memoribilia and Collectibles - Dogdaddy - 09-12-2006 This is a WWII overseas cap for Glider- Borne/Parachute infantry. The red checkered pattern of the piping signifies artillary. Inside has a pretty dry leather sweatband but nice grey rayon lining, w/o any mothing. I am kind of a cap freak..along with a love of old posters and etc.

Jim Memoribilia and Collectibles - Walt's Daughter - 09-12-2006 I'll have to add mine to the site too. Once of these days... Memoribilia and Collectibles - Custermen - 09-14-2006 My cousin bequethed to me his Uncle's uniform. Cpl James E. Mathias served with Co. D, 5th Armored Division in France/Germany. The uniform is an IKE jacket that has several moth holes. The Ike jacket is missing collar brass and ribbons but it has Sgt Rank, 5ID patch, 3 overseas stripes and a Re-enlistment stripe that is in good shape. He also sent an OD shirt with rank and a 5ID patch and it has a gas flap and a pair of slacks. The uniform is huge. He was a big man.
I'm getting it cleaned and will add ribbons and brass for display.
Steve Memoribilia and Collectibles - Walt's Daughter - 09-14-2006 Steve: You need to open your own museum. You are acquiring so many cool, cool things. Memoribilia and Collectibles - Dogdaddy - 09-14-2006 This WWII stickpin is rather self-explanatory.... Memoribilia and Collectibles - Walt's Daughter - 09-14-2006 Haven't seen that one before. As you stated, self-explanatory! Memoribilia and Collectibles - Dogdaddy - 09-16-2006 Gee.....I wonder if anybody I know might be interested in this item? It's a WWII Engineer's Recruiting book. I bet Marion's Dad looked through one of these in the 1940's..

My wife had a different opinion. She said I needed to hold up buying more until I do some clean up.

I have a friend who is into genealogy and somehow can find Enlistment Records. His enlistment papers said he was 180 lbs and stood 6 Ft 6 In tall. Can't imagine him in a M-3 Stuart tank. The pants swallow me and are about 3 inches too long. The IKE jacket is the biggets I've ever seen. Sadly, both have moth holes.
