This came out in the Nov. issue of the V.F.W. magazine. Just got it.
MEDAL OF HONOR
Sgt. 1st Class Paul Smith------ARMY ENGINEER CORPS.----2nd Plt. B. Co.------11th Eng. Bn.******** 3rd INF. DIVN.******** Bagdad,Iraq, April 4,2003. Hometown:Holiday, Fla.
While leading his unit in constructing an Iraqi prison near Bagdad INtl. Airport, Smith and his men were attacked. Rather than retreat, Smith MANNED a 50-caliber machine gun, killing 50 of the enemy. He took return fire from aautomatic weapons and rocket -propelled grenades. He finally died when he was hit in the head. His actions saved the lives of some 100 GI's outside the courtyard walls. AWARDED APRIL 4, 2005.

If anyone is interested. If you find yourself heading south on I-95 toward Florida..LOL..(Lot of snow birds heading south for Christmans...LOL) Its a great museum to stop in to see, the National Marne Museum at Fort Stewart. It saddens me to not see practically nothing on the 30th Infantry except a couple of things 
However, there is a ton of great US 3rd Infantry Division pieces ranging from WWI to Operation Iraqi Freedom I/II. Included in the museum is SFC Paul Smiths M-4 Carbine and all of the other equipment he was wearing the day he committed the act that won him posthumously the Congressional Medal of Honor aswell as 2nd Lt. (Later Maj.) Audie Leon Murphy's M-1 Carbine!!!

Well James, looks like you have another job in life. 
You'll just have to change that situation and be the one who kicks the museum into gear! Trust me, it just takes one determined and interested person. Maybe you will be the one that gets some items displayed for the 30th at this musuem! I say, go for it!
Trust me, this little woman is getting some dust kicked up for the engineers, so I know it can be done! Hoo-ahhhh!
