Company A, 359TH Engineer General Service Regiment - Dan Dunkin - 03-18-2011 Hello:
My name is Daniel Dunkin, and I am looking for anyone who has information on my grandads unit. He was a truck driver assigned to Company A, 359TH Engineer General Service Regiment from Nov 1944 to August 1946. I discovered a few photos when my dad passed away and I do not have much info. I am trying to put a shadow-box for my dad,(Vietnam),grandad, WWII, and my own service in the gulf. If anyone has any information, I would be very greatfull. I am looking for a unit crest, unit patch and or any other information.
My grandad's name was Robert Curtis Dunkin, all his friends called him Bob, and he was from Cullman Alabama. His rank at discharge was a T/SGT.
thank you,

It's a start! Happy hunting and welcome! Company A, 359TH Engineer General Service Regiment - Caryl-280ECB - 03-19-2011 Oh and if you write to the records archive, you can get a list of his accomplisments and promotions, which is VERY helpful in making the shadow box. Especially, listing the equipment qualified on like rifle, pistol - marksman, sharpshooter etc. Company A, 359TH Engineer General Service Regiment - Dan Dunkin - 03-19-2011

Thank you,
I did sent a request to the VA at Vetrecords.com and am waiting for thier response to see if they can locate his records. I have a few copies of his DD 214, but they are so old and faded they are hard to read.

Unfortunately with Worthpoint, you have to join and pay a fee, and it doesn't necessarily mean they will have the book.
Keep on searching, as we all will. These books turn up for sale from time to time. Company A, 359TH Engineer General Service Regiment - Caryl-280ECB - 03-20-2011 I didn't mean to try to get it from worthpoint, but rather to use it as a guide to help ID the title ! Company A, 359TH Engineer General Service Regiment - Walt's Daughter - 03-21-2011 I just wanted to give everyone a heads-up, for many aren't familiar with Worthpoint. |
