208th Combat Engineers - Walt's Daughter - 06-03-2005 Received this on June 2, 2005
I am looking for information on the 208th Combat Engineer unit during WW II. My late father-in-law was in it. I finally got in touch with Mr. Edward Stefanik in Pittsburg. He told me that they didn't have any unit history or web site. He also said that they had their last reunion about 3 years ago. My son is leaving for the Normandy reunion tonight and he was wanting some unit history. If you of any place that I could research I would appreciate you letting me know.
Thanks Curtis James Granbury, Texas 208th Combat Engineers - Walt's Daughter - 06-03-2005 Hi Curtis:
Sorry that Mr Stefanik couldn't help you. I find that a bit odd since he is listed as their contact. That is too bad.
Have you tried to contact the Army Corps of Engineers? They usually have file folders on each engineer unit, though some may have inches of documents, others may just a page or two.
Here are all the avenues I tell people to try first. It is listed in the research section of my forum:

Also try this gentleman:
208th Engineer Combat Bn Mr. Thomas J. Roberts 4420 Benzler Road Marion, OH 43302 (614) 389-1933
I will see what else I can find for you and will keep you posted. I will also place your info on the forum under Lost and Found, so others may see it. You never know when someone might read your request for the history of the 208th.
Warm regards,
