If any of you have read Memories of Al Kincer - 48th Combat Engineer, then you know he has contributed many great things to this site and I am forever grateful to him for this.
Well, yesterday I found this post in our Guestbook.
I really enjoyed your site. It is the first viewed in my search for my grandfathers history in the service. I am currently enlisted in the AF and am looking to further my knowledge of him in the armed forced. I respect the nobility of all men willing to fight for their beloved country. Thanks again.
Josh happens to be the grandson of the friend and fellow combat engineer that Al wrote a great eulogy for. That eulogy is included on his page. Josh happened to be searching the web and came upon this site. Isn't that great? Another example of the Internet bringing us all together.

I came across this site while looking for information on the 48th Engineers. I read Mr Kincer's memories, and it turns out that my great uncle served in his company. I have contacted him and he has been very gracious in helping me learn more about my great uncle. This is a great site!

Welcome to our site and thank you for the compliments. Always grateful to bring people together.
Ya, Al is a superb human being. I am very thankful to be his friend. He has definitely enhanced my life and I'm so glad that we have crossed paths. I'm sure he will fill in some blanks for you and acquaint you with the history of your great uncle.
Let me know if I can help you with anything else.
Oh, be sure to check out the 48th reunion coming up this year in Port Huron MI. Last year was going to be their last but...
You can find all the info under the Reunion's section of our forum.
