This also happened to me M1, when reading a book I came across this photo of my dad (far left) taken in 1944.

Goosebumps!!! How wonderful. We know that feeling. Thanks for sharing that. I just love it.

I remember talking about your dad when we were waiting for our planes to arrive. I can't remember if you have any of the recordings. Can you refresh my memory?

How cool is that, huh?!

I'm sad to say M1 that the BBC recordings of the band made during the war were either erased or destroyed. A few years ago I did a search of various archives but to no avail.

You've given me hope! I know one day I will see my dad in someone's photograph. In the meantime I just enjoy (if enjoy is really the proper term) looking through the photographs.

Colin, maybe you will get lucky and somehow, someway someone will have a recorded copy and it will turn up. I hope so.

And, Marion, I'd be interested to know why your father was called Monday. If you've already posted on it, can you direct me to it?

Clem

That was the literal translation from Polish. Our last name is Poniedzialek. I believe Monday is a lot easier to say and remember! :kermit:
