I can't imagine making it through the war, then living peacefully until your 90 with the love of your life, only to have it end this way.

I totally agree with you M1...
In addition, a paratrooper, a person who has been spuer trained to fight , I can only imagine the frustration of finding a boy in front and can not do anything... If they met sixty-nine years ago, the result would have been certainly different...
I can only say that, although it is of little consolation, now he is in peace in a place where wars and violence are nothing but a fading memory.
