Footlocker - Steiger Spec CQD 61-b 1943
#1

Received this letter this week. Am posting this for her. Please help us find the family. She would love to return the footlocker

I found a footlocker ..inside the lid is printed " Steiger Spec CQD 61-b 1943"Do you have any information about this ? Steiger is painted on all 4 sides . It appears to have been painted over ... the original color appears to be white . I would like to return it to the family ..

Seems CGD is a Quartermaster designation. That designation is not specific to the soldier, but is a placed there by the army. I found several other lockers with same designation.
