Edsel G Church - 78th Troop Carrier Squadron
#1

This week there was a post on the Alger, MI website, via the guestbook. A woman from England posted the following:

Hi and Happy Christmas to you all!

I am trying to trace Edsel G. Church who I think lives on Ridge Road,Alger.
I am trying to find out if he knew my father during WWII
(Bona (Tom) Bathe). They would probably have met in the UK? I have some envelopes with Edsels details and also Harold Rabinowitz.

Would love to solve the mystery.

Many thanks for any help,
Bonita Deegan

Well, I found out that he passed away in 2000, and I'm currently try to find out if he still has any living relatives here in my town of Alger, MI.

I just wrote to her and let her know about his passing and told her what a coincidence it was that she was looking for someone that her dad knew during WWII in England, since I am a WWII historian. This is right up my alley.

She wrote back to me and stated that he was with the 78th Troop Carrier Squadron.
