Iwo Jima the first flag raising

I had often heard about the "first, smaller" flag raising at Iwo Jima .... but this is the first time I have seen a picture of it.
Notice the marine with his carbine !

Watched a great show on it last night on the History Channel. Very interesting. They interviewed the daughter of the guy with the carbine. She was so very proud of her father.
