Attention nurses & veterans with stories regarding nurses
#1

Hello everyone:

Today I received a phone call from a Mary Lou Palumbo, who is conducting interviews, etc., in preparation for a documentary she is creating for PBS. The subject of this film will be war nurses.

I gave her the names and contact info for several nurses I had been in contact with, but she was also interested in talking with any veterans who may have been hospitalized, etc. during the war.

If you have anything you would like to share with her regarding nurses, please contact Mary Lou as soon as possible.

Her email address is: mlpcommunications@gmail.com

or call her at: 508-454-0034

Many thanks for your help,

Marion

Wonderful, wonderful. Our vet, Jim Davis, has already contacted Mary Lou and they are scheduling an telephone interview. Thrilled.

Jim, thanks for taking part. :pdt12:

This is a great topic. By the end of the week, I should be able to contact a Vet and will see what he thinks.

Captain John Fallon has also jumped on the bandwagon.

I called her but never received a phone call back. I just sent an email to her. Maybe she already has enough people. We shall see.

I spoke to Mary Lou, on August 30th, Friday. I checked with quite a few Veterans and with their approval sent her 5 contacts and their phone numbers. Some had humorous recollections, some poignant, and one met a nurse in a Prison Camp. She had been in a plane that was shot down and ultimately was released in Feb. 1945 in some exchange. I hope they all fit into her plans because the little stories are all so interesting .....
