This old metal plate depicts a French & a Belgian soldier standing atop the Nazi "dragon" they have slayed (with a little help from their Friends). The dragon is sporting an SS helmet and a nazi armband. It says "Mei (May) 1945".

There's "No Bridge Too Far"
The soldier with his back to us is a Dutch one, he wears an orange brassard.
He might be Dutch Underground.
The other soldier is either English or Canadian.
Maybe remembering the (second) Liberation of the Arnhem area?

I found one other plate like this on a Militaria Dealer's (Lost Collectables) website and that is where it was stated that they are Belgian & French soldiers, but if you want to really get confused the ebay Seller I bought it from had them listed as "American/Russian." One thing we can all agree on is the identity of that dead Dragon they are standing on.
