I am researching my grandfather's WW2 history but I have very limited information. I do have his discharge papers and I know he was with the 1262nd CEB, Co B and was shipped to ETO on Oct. 29, 1944 and arrived on Nov. 9th, 1944. His unit was originally assigned to the 1st Army and later to Patton's 3rd Army. I have requested his military file from NARA and have some information coming on the 1262nd. I would like to know what he did in ETO and see any photos.

Please also refer to our Research section. You've already contacted NARA, and hopefully they will have much to share, but you may also want to contact others listed within that section for further data.

Thanks for the links. I have seen several of them and they do contain a lot of good information. I am waiting on a package from the Eisenhower Library on the 1262nd. I have also sent a request to the Corps of Engineers to see if they have any data. My dad has some pictures of my grandfather from Germany he will be sending me. I will post them as soon as I can get them scanned. I am slowly getting some of the puzzle pieces into place.
I have been trying to get info from NARA on my grandfathers records but still have not gotten anything yet. I have some photos of him in Germany and Belguim. Here are a couple of photos. In the first one, my grandfather is on the left.
Finally got around to uploading those pics for ya on the Engineer Gallery. You can find both images in the "Engineer Images Various" folder. Pleased to do so. I did a little photo re-touching too, to bring out a little more detail. Hope you are pleased.
