Do you have any info on a Wayne Bertram Straight processing through Washington DC around April of 41? Here is a pic.

He was possible from Iowa.

He added this later this weekend.

You may laugh but God was smiling on my one day in 2002, I emailed George Bush and Dick Cheney about this because I was getting frustrated. They called my office and my secretary was “The Vice Presidents office is on line 1â€, I figured it to be from my company but instead it was one of VP Cheney’s staffers a general if I remember correctly who sympathized with my plight since he lost his dad in WW2 so the Whitehouse put a special “Emphasis†on my request to the NARA and they said they could not find anything and so they thought that maybe he was lost in the fire. I gave them info that he might be either strait or straight but I figure that they only looked under strait but just this month I found out that I have relatives in my family tree who were maiden name of Straight. If there was someway for me to have access to the 1920 or 1930 census I would probably find him listed as a kid or teenager. I heard from my aunt last year that she thought she remembered something about him being born in New Jersey but I tried to get a hold of her this month and I found out she passed away a short while after I last talked to her. Does the uniform match what I was told about being in the army c.o.e.? It is my opinion that he was living in DC or MD or Iowa where the rest of the Straights appear to have moved to in the late 1800’s. I found where I had a “Straight†relative that lived in Middle River, Baltimore Co, Maryland, 21220 till 1994 when she passed away. Some where there has to be a record of him being in DC for processing because he left DC to go to WW2. He even wrote my grandma a love song saying goodbye.

I did find some Wayne Straits in the SSDI, maybe this will help.

Got this from Rick tonight. What great news! :pdt34:

I am sorry for not replying earlier also, I have found him. I am in contact with his family. His name was not Bertram Wayne Straight but Bertel Wayne Straight and he was drafted into the Quartermaster Corp. I have compared pictures with the family and they all agree that it is him in the picture without a doubt. Case solved.

Thanks again. Sadly he died on my wife’s birthday last year.
