Heroic Officers Dare Death for Men

My buddy Steve Casey, son of Donald Casey - 540th Combat Engineer, sent me some documents which include an article found in Collier's Magazine, August 1943. The article covers the story of three men, one of whom was a member of the 540th. I placed the article in two parts; the image at top and the text itself.

Also included are two letters sent home to his wife, which reference this event, and finally a PDF file which covers each of the three men. Pretty cool stuff.

Thanks Steve, this is just awesome! :happybirthday:

Me neither, until now. Too bad I didn't get it into the North Africa segment....
