The 185th Port Co. has Campaign Credits for Normandy; Assault Credit 6-7 June 44 for Normandy; Northern France; Ardennes-Alsace: & Rhineland; Occupation Duty in Germany 4 Sept - 20 Oct 45. For the Invasion of Normandy, the 185th Port/487th Port Bn was part of the 5th Engineer Special Brigade in support of the 1st Infantry Div on Omaha Beach. Unit moved to Antwerp in Nov 1944 where the American units were under the command of the 13th Major Port.
