Hello everyone, my friend has found a dog-tag. This should be an officer. I could not find any information of any kind, can anyone help me?

Thank you all and as always compliments for everything you do!

Charles U Culmer

The dog tag is 2 lines

Thanks

Enry

Yes, according the the serial number, he was a commissioned officer.

Right now after a brief search, I've come up with this, but cannot find a match to the serial number. Mind you, I just began, but have dinner going, so let me do a more thorough search tomorrow.

This could be him?!

Major Charles U. Culmer, Base Surgeon, U.S. Medical Corps. Born July 3, 1911. Died April 19, 1993.

This story also has an interesting twist...

It appears his wife was the president of the Girl Scouts!

Marjorie Mehne Culmer (1958–1963) (Mrs. Charles U. Culmer) (later chair of WAGGGS, died in 1994)

To Larry, it's a nice nickname :D although I'm not going to dig for a while longer. This is my friend who very often recover dog tags ...

To M1, thanks for the help, when I have a little time I control everything.

As always, thanks!

Wow all very interesting! I can not understand, though, as he could be near Pietramala during wwII, and write reports from Arctic bases... I had found this information on him and on his wife, but I had discarded it because it seemed impossible to me he could be in Italy and in the Arctic at the same time :D

No news from relatives?

Yes, I thought that odd too, but maybe we can solve the mystery and inconsistencies when we are contacted by one of his relatives.

No sorry, no answer yet. Maybe I will try another relative, since this one is a no-show so far.
