87th Infantry 345 Regiment April 7th , 8th, 9th 1945
#1

I am looking for info on the 87th infantry 345 regiment. Date April 7th 8th and 9th. On the 8th the 345 liberated some Canadians that had fought in Dieppe. There are some photo's and a little bit of info not much. There was supposed to be a story published on this liberation. Not sure in what. But my Dad who was liberated by the 345th told us kids that he read about the story....He never kept track of what it was in. If there is any reference info you have to that time frame. It would greatly be appreciated if you could direct me in the right direction. If you have any personal stores that would be great. Just trying to find as much as I can and to thank those that Liberated my Dad.

If there are any other personal stories out there they would be a huge benefit as well.

(Background info: My Dad landed at Dieppe and was wounded and taken P.O.W. to german prison camp in Bad Sulza.)

I have contacted the 87th infantry website...had some responses....but none from the 345 regiment

thanks in advance

below is the photographer info that took 1 of the pics of the liberated group.
