Ditto to that. I got mine from the 34th Div Museum too. Don't pay the bookstore prices. Ouch!

Roque,
Sorry to take so long in answering.
I don't remember sending you any pictures but I did tell you about the 36th Division's site and the fact that they go on tour every year. It sure sounds like it would be one heck of a trip to me. I know my uncle fought there. I adored him. He was my hero. Of course, he never talked about his war experiences and is gone now leaving me to scrape up the crumbs and bits and pieces of history that so affected him till his last days.
I am so glad I was able to contribute something of value here. Thanks, Roque. You made my day.
Best regards,
Marilyn aka texas38

Posting this here for Rocky:
Texas38:
Sorry about saying you sent me those pics. But after reviewing my e-mail I saw where it was, Patti Stickle, daughter of T. Patcher and a William G Gregg Wiley. 141st.Inf. She sent me several pics. One of them showed the members of the tour PLACING A WREATH AT THE MONUMENT OF THE 34th. Divn. And like I said when I saw that pic. the ceiling sprung a leak cause a couple of drops came down my face. I hope I cleared this up.

From Roque:
3-7-1 Recon,Joe j3rdinf, My how things change , but I think it's called progress. The first summer '43 we only had woolens no fatigues. I got a picture that someone took of me by a haystack the morning we came off the line. Don't ask what I did behind the haystack but I had a trench shovel. Boots and halfway upmy legs still covered with mud. And I think shortly after that the Lt. came by and handed me my C.I.B. That is my most prized posession Andyes I have it in a shadow box along with some other medals. So RECON,Joe, there might be new CIB's but they will NEVER match ours. Roque
