What little information I have read about the "Werewolves" myself is that they were never any major threat as far as kick-starting the nazi party again, but they were quite actively involved in the assasinations of local officials (like town mayor etc.,) whom they felt were "traitors and collaborators" with the Allies. They were also the reason that GI's started welding a long piece of steel pipe to the front of their jeeps.....to keep from being decapitated by piano wires which had been strung across the roads in Germany. As far as the story of a big "National Redoubt" goes however....never happened.
