Here's yet another story, which was submitted to me by Rocky.

After 64 Years WWII Veteran Comes Home

(The link above displays the story below as well as a video)

KANSAS CITY, KAN - After 64 years a World War II soldier's remains will be returned to his family. Army Private Henry Enrique Marquez's remains were discovered in Germany two years ago by a souvenir hunter.

The Marquez family said they received their brother's dog tags last week with a knock on the door that opened old wounds. Now the family is hoping for some

closure.

Thank you, M-1 rocky

Marquez was 18 when he was drafted to fight in World War II.

"I remember the day he went to the Army because everyone was crying," said John Clark Marquez, brother. "It was very emotional, and I was only four, and I really didn't understand what was happening."

John Clark Marquez said his memory of his brother is based on family stories and that he often wished he had personal memories of his own. Marquez said the Army told his family his brother was killed Nov. 4, 1944, as his Army regiment, the 112th Infantry of the 28th Division, took heavy machine gun fire in Germany's Huertgen Forest.

"They saw him dead, but his body was not recovered," said Marquez. "The fighting was so fierce that they were not able to recover a lot of bodies, and the wounded either, because of the firing. It was a terrible, terrible battle there."

Hildreth Stuart said her family had often wondered what happen to her brother, whom they called Ricky.

"We've had thoughts all these years and never had an answer, if he was a prisoner some place, we would have known and we could have checked on him, but this way there's never been anything," she said.

The family said Ricky will be returned to Kansas City, Kan., and laid to rest next to his parents at Highland Park Cemetery. The family said Private Henry Enrique Marquez will be buried with full military honors on Saturday at 11 am.
