This is so very interesting! I consider myself to be a knowledgable guy when it comes to military history - and I'm a Marine with 17 years in - but I had never heard of this. I will certainly have to look for more information. I only wish I had known about this when I had the opportunity to visit Camp Pendelton to I could have seen the memorial.
