You have hit on a subject very dear to my heart. The unsung battles of WW2 and those that have taken place since 1945. They are often referred to as "Small Wars"!!

I must just mention an interest as I was involved in the Oman insurgency campaign 1970/71, a typical small war.

This is why I have spent the last ten years trying to raise the profile of Operation Husky. (Sicily 1943 - Patton, Montgomery, Audie Murphy, Alec Guiness and many Combat Engineers as well).
