Hi. Received this message from 157th veteran, Harold Whiting and am sharing what he wrote to me:
hi kid maybe this will help the 163 and 157 c eng were part of the 1109 eng group we worked close together during the war i believe the patch is a 3rd army patch, . there is a 163 history on the net , 3 years ago i had teeth the dentist saw i was 157 eng he said my dad was in 163 eng he drew the picture of like a monkey as i remember it is all somewhere on the net have looked it up hope this helps this gent ,the group 157 - and 163 landed aug 27 1944 on the beach by what i read
