Crossing the Agger in April 45
#1

I am looking for any information, photos or temporary witnesses concerning crossing the river AGGER in April 1945 near SIEGBURG and LOHMAR. There have been two bridges built by American Combat Engineers, 1 pontoon bridge near SIEGBURG and another one 1 km north, which is more interesting for me at the moment. There are still two wooden posts of this bridge in the water, and no, there was not a civil bridge at that place. I am writing a text for a local history and geography magazine about this relic of the war. Here detailed information is quiet rare, almost always the same (bad) translation of the same text "The Story of the 97th Infantry Division".

Thanks,

Christoph
