Looking for PFC Allan J. Mulgrew 1175th Engineer Combat Group

I’m trying learn more about my grandfather's service. I requested his service record from the St. Louis Archives, but no luck, they said they were destroyed in the fire.

 

I found his name on line: Allan J. Mulgrew, (PFC) on a unit roster of M Company 254th Infantry Reg. on 23 August 1945. When I asked about it, Fred Clinton Webmaster for 63rd Infantry Division web site, said Allan came from the 1175th Engineer Combat Group and was assigned to the 254th INF REG for movement back to the US. Through a little looking around, it seems the 1175^th Engineer Combat Group was under VI Corps. Maybe someone at 6thcorpscombatengineers.com might know something or have some unit rosters, etc….

 

I'm retired military myself. Never knew him as my grandmother and grandfather divorced when my mother was young. But, I'm into family history and genealogy, and of course the military association.

In any case, maybe someone contact me if anything should pop up.
