Pretty impressive yes? I have that link on the main site and have found that many of the people that visit have used it and found people they knew.
The 540th fought long and hard and paid a high price in KIA's and casualties. They were in service for a long period too, from November 1942 to the end of the war. They saw a lot of territory, built a lot of bridges, unearthed a lot of mines, etc. They also fought as infantry and did so in the Ardennes/Alsace Campaign. I really admire them and it's hard for me to imagine all they went through.
