What happened on 1 March 1944??  There are 8 with that as the date of their death---not counting the soldiers not buried there and the ones WIA.

???

 

They were at Anzio and took a direct bomb hit on Company F Billet, 21 enlisted men killed, 19 EM wounded and 3 EM missing in action.
