I checked my other reference and found more Polish Engineering units.
Reference: "The Allied Forces in Italy; 1943-1945" by Guido Rosignoli.
Under II Corps HQ
Dowodztwo 2 Grupy Saperow
(note: saperow = sapper or engineer)
... 10th & 20th Batalion Saperow Kolejowych (railway engineers)
Under 2nd "Warszawska" Armoured Division
...Saperzy 2 'Warszawskiej' Dywizji Pancernej
(Dywizja= division. Translates to 2nd Division's Engineers)
Under 3rd "Karpackich" (Carparthian) Rifle Division
...Saperzy 3 Dywizji Stzelcow 'Karpackich'
Under 5th "Kresowa" Infantry Division
...Saperzy 3 'Kresowy' Dywizji Piechoty
Under 14th "Wielkopolska" Armoured Brigade
...14 'Wielkopolska' Kompania Sparow (company size)
Another reference, "15th Army Group; Dec 1944- May 1945" doesn't list all these engineering units nor many of the infantry and armoured units. The first reference probably represents the troop strength at Cassino in early 1944. This source lists under the 5th "Kresowa" Division the 4, 5, & 6 Kresowa Field Engineer Company and 5 Field Park Company.
Its just difficult to keep up with all these units. But there were more than just the 10th Engineers in the Polish II Corps.
